Day 4 and 4 Pounds Gone!

This morning I stepped on the scale and found that four whole pounds were gone! In just 4 days of dieting. That is fabulous and fascinating. I even woke up this morning with much more energy than I have in months. I find that equally fascinating as one would think fewer calories would make you less energetic. Apparently, that is not the case.
I’ve actually settled into the idea of eating this way. I had our usual Wednesday night Bible study gathering (which includes a dinner-club type meal) last night and managed to eat on program without a blink. I completely avoided the dark chocolate and peanut butter brownies and didn’t lose any sleep over it at all.
I believe once the first three days are over, things get easier. The sugars and the garbage leave your system and the cravings decrease dramatically. I just have to be careful to spread out my food over the day so I don’t’ plummet into a hunger headache during mid-day. That mid-day apple is a salvation! Who knew?
I’m thrilled with the pounds coming off. I realize it won’t keep up at quite this level but it is encouraging to see progress in the right direction.
