Photodynamic Therapy is a new procedure using 5-aminolevulinic acid to create a photosensitizing reaction in the skin. When the acid is applied to the skin, it is absorbed best by oil glands and sun-damaged cells. When a laser or light source is applied to the pre-treated skin, a reaction creates unstable oxygen molecules. The end result is elimination of bacteria and shrinking of the oil-producing glands as well as destruction of certain pre-cancerous lesions.
The following light sources can be used:

|
|
- -- BLU-U®, one of our newest technologies for treating acne with photodynamic therapy
- -- IPL®, an enhanced version of our FotoFacial® with increased collagen production
- -- V-Beam®, used in conjunction with other procedures for the treatment of acne
