Acne Treatment
Photodynamic Therapy is a treatment using Aleuronic Acid to create a photosensitizing reaction to the skin. This process can be added to different laser and light source systems to increase the reduction of bacteria and enhance the effect of the process. It is recommended for solving acne symptoms. - One of our most popular lasers used for acne is the Smoothbeam® Laser. Smoothbeam® Laser is a diode laser used in our office for FDA cleared treatment of Acne, Acne Scarring, Sebaceous Hyperplasia and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. This laser can be used for spot treatments or simply to reduce the oilness in your skin.
- Smoothbeam® can be used for acne scarring and active acne. The process safely targets and heats collagen in the upper dermis, stimulating new collagen formation. Smoothbeam can improve the appearance of atrophic acne scars by reducing their depth and softening the edges of the scar. The treatment also reduces the size of the oil-producing glands, resulting in a decrease in acne breakouts. Smoothbeam® is also FDA approved for the treatment of fine lines around the eyes.
